My Year of Reading
In 2025, our Library Service celebrated 100 years of being at the heart of the community right across West Sussex by sharing a love of reading. West Sussex Libraries has now launched their 2026 reading challenge: My Year of Reading.

Birds of prey

Springtime reflections
Along St Mary’s churchyard path, crocuses and daffodils lift their golden trumpets to welcome visitors. A Silver Award Eco Church, St Mary’s is cared for by a dedicated team committed to nurturing its natural environment. Among ancient graves and venerable yew trees, birds, insects, wildflowers and small mammals find a precious refuge, while birdsong drifts through the church walls into quiet, reflective spaces.

New government legislation being bought in for March 2026 requires all councils in England to collect food waste. Horsham District estimates that on average, more than 40% of rubbish is food waste so, by separating this from general waste, more recycling can take place.
